Radio Gham Chhaya (RGC), @ 90.0 FM is a Dehradun based radio station for locals and through the Radioghamchhaya website and App for listeners across India and globally.

This is India’s First Licensed Nepali Community Radio Station and is started by the writer Madhu Gurung backed by the Shaheed Lt Gautam Gurung Trust. Its aim is to promote Nepali language, culture and history in universal celebration of all cultures across the world. This means that while 60 percent of RGC’s programs are in Nepali, the remaining is in Hindi so as to reach out to a larger section of society.

The radio station was inaugurated on 20 October 2021 by the Governor of Uttarakhand Lt General Gurmit Singh.

 

Six months into its inauguration the RGC competed with 55 radio stations across India and won the UNESCO Radio Fellowship. The Fellowship was to highlight UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 15 – “Life on Land”. The community radio broadcasts live from 7 AM to 11 AM and again from 4.30 PM to 9.00 PM. It can also be heard from 11 AM to 4.30 PM as it is livestreaming a total of 14 hours a day. We can be heard not just in Dehradun but anywhere in the world through our website (www.radioghamchhaya.com)and through our Radioghamchhaya App that can be downloaded from the google play store.
